TangoVia Buenos Aires understands that a decisive form for building a bridge between the history of tango and the new generations is through a digital archive of tango, which would contain the recordings, digitalized musical scores, parts, arrangements and the bibliographic reference material for studying and understanding the genealogy of tango.
Programs
- Creation and development of the Tango Digital Archive, whose objective is to preserve the cultural patrimony of tango in an integrated, thematic, and chronological form. Through the digitalization of recordings, photographs, books, magazines, scores, musical arrangements and films, we can quickly create a secure copy of the enormous amount of extant material, later classifying it according to multiple criteria and offering it as an easily consultable resource.
- Creation of an easy access library with musical scores, arrangements, books and magazines that would be important for the history of tango.
- Documentation and diffusion of the music that we produce through recordings, films, the internet, scores, the radio, educational materials and written articles.
- Research about and contact with the tango musicians and the relatives of tango musicians whose personal archives we would be interested in obtaining.
- Focus on gathering all available material and documenting all the activities of TangoVia Buenos Aires so that we do not forget who we are.
